My name is Erica Zamorano. I have been married to an amazing m
an for 17 years and have 2 children. Before I had my children, I was an elementary school classroom teacher, with experience in gifted instruction, as well as remedial reading. I had never planned on homeschooling! Once my kids were in school, I had grand plans of spending my days attending PTA meetings, lunches with friends, and tennis lessons. Oh, and eating bon bons by the pool. What a joke….
Fast forward 8 years later, and I am a die hard homeschooling mom. I fell into homeschooling when trying to find the right educational fit for my son; homeschooling seemed like the only option; now it is my passion.
While exploring homeschooling, I quickly identified with much of the philosophy in the Well Trained Mind and became excited about providing my family with such a rich educational experience. I searched for a class that would offer both "meaty" academic content and a positive social experience at the same time. I also wanted some relief from teaching all of the subjects, while also creating some free time in my schedule while my son was in class. I did not find anything that met all those criteria, so I created Classical Education Enrichment.
My goal is to provide our students with an opportunity for deep, creative, and academic learning experience as well as some community: eating lunch together and simply being in regular contact with the same friends. I was blessed to find Mrs. Hering, who quickly understood my vision and made it a reality.
Students will need to be attentive and participatory in class in order for the rest of the students to benefit from class time. Regular disruptive or violent behavior will not be accepted as it would hinder the other student's ability to have a positive learning experience.

Meet our Teachers: Aside with being busy with family gatherings, I love to create art, knit, sew, read and travel with my husband. In my spare time I dance (West Coast swing), garden, read and enjoy time with good friends. I am very excited to be joining the Classical Education Enrichment team and look forward to a great year. My outside interests are reading, art and crocheting. I love singing in our church choir. My husband plays the guitar and I love being involved in the things he does with his music.
Mrs. Hering & Mrs. Printy will be team teaching our elementary classes: "The Romans" and "The Greeks." Mrs. Sandoval will be overseeing our classic kinders/aka "The Egyptians."
Mrs. Hering
I was introduced to home school education in 1986. To prepare myself and become the primary educator for my three daughters I began by attending local home school workshops and got connected with other home school families. After approximately 16 years of educating my children I continued to teach other home schoolers through private and charter schools. In addition, I am continuing my own pursuit of learning through online courses hoping one day I will have an arts degree.
I am happily married to a husband who has supported me all these years. Two of our daughters are married and have children making us proud grandparents. Our youngest daughter graduated in 2006 with a BA in Theater Arts through the University of Vanguard of Southern California..
Mrs. Printy:
I am married with 2 daughters, one at Cal Poly Pomona and the other starting Arizona State in the fall. I have always been involved with kids through the years. At church I was the nursery director, taught Sunday school, worked VBS, and was a leader in the youth ministry program. I was very involved in my daughters’ schools, helping out in the classroom, teaching civil war period dance to 8th graders, a chaperone on the 8th grade D.C. trip. I am currently employed with the Fullerton School District as a substitute teacher and additionally am doing one-on-one tutoring with students this summer.
Mrs. Sandoval:
My name is Dee Sandoval. I have been married to David Sandoval for five years. I have four grown children who have given me nine wonderful grandchildren. Education has been a convoluted path for me and my family. Everything came easily for my first son. His teachers gave me the credit, but he was gifted. All I had to do was be available for him. When my second child started school, he obviously had a problem and so began a long, painful journey of trying to find the best path for him. His fifth year we tested him and found he has learning disabilities. It was suggested that I try home schooling. I did try for one year but I had very little support from friends and family and much to my regret, I stopped. If only I had The Well Trained Mind, I would have had the confidence to continue! Instead I tried the public school and kept searching until I did find a system that allowed him to develop at his own pace. He is now a successful designer with two children of his own.
While educating and raising my children, I gradually completed my own education and along the way taught preschool and junior high. I loved teaching history and health at Whittier Christian Junior High. I decided to transition to business at Verizon Wireless – this allowed me to better provide for my family, but I sorely missed teaching. I am now retired and was happy to see an opportunity to get back to my first love, teaching. As soon as Erica introduced me to "the book" I knew I had to read it. I have been reading it while on vacation and have shared it with my son. I am so excited to further investigate this wonderful system so I can pass it on to my children.
