CEE will be offering 2 levels of classes for this coming school year:
* Classic Kinder: World History Overview
* Grammar Stage/Elementary: The Ancients
Classic Kinder is geared for five and six year olds. These students will experience an overview of world history through age appropriate literature, arts and crafts, poems and music. These students will also learn basic geography and cultures that coincide with different places in our world. This class will also allow for plenty of social time and lunch with other students in addition to a gentle introduction to Latin. The information covered in this class is quite academic and advanced, but it is presented in gentle "kindergarten" type environment.
Our grammar stage class (1st -5th grade) will be covering the Ancient Times through Story of the World Volume 1. Students are responsible to read, or be read to, the history chapter before class and study three "smart cards." These smart cards are simple facts to learn each week that relate to the material covered in class. During class, students participate in a guided art lesson about the history topic, crafts, and age appropriate literature. They also cover the geography that relates to the history topic through discussion, smart cards, and coloring maps. Lastly, the students learn about the art history that correlates to the history of that time period. Students in this class stay for lunch and enjoy social play with other students in the class.
